Denny Shoopman
Born at Ft. Carson, Colorado, raised an Army brat. Lived in Germany for 14 years. Graduated high school at Gen. H.H. Arnold, Wiesbaden, Germany. Attended The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. 1998. Received audio production engineer and troubleshooting course certificates. Engineer on "None of the Above's" debut CD. Live sound engineer. Started film editing in 2005 for private films. Attended film crew, postproduction, and field audio classes at CNM in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Editor on Text (short film 2015), Chips and Salsa (short film 2015), What the Darkness Fears (short film 2015), 'Lyrics from a Bleeding Heart' (2017), The Bethlehem (2018), Fly By (2017), and Neighbors (2018). Started doing cinematography in 2015. Worked as cinematographer for Jaded Promises (2016), Love You to Pieces (2016), The Bethlehem (2018), Fly By (2017), One Day Only (2018), and Spin to Win (2018). Preachers Little Secret (2016). The first director position was on the short film, Preacher's Little Secret, and I was also the cinematographer on the film. Director on Neighbors (2018), SeeSaw (pre-production), Irish in Albuquerque (pre-production), The Colors of Hell (pre-production, 2018) Denny is also a writer. Residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I love being creative. I like outside the box. Ever since I was a kid, I always liked taking pictures. I went to film and started out as an editor, then went to cinematography, and finally slid into the director’s chair. It’s a great feeling to create.
